Liquefied Natural
Gas:
A-Valey Engineers, Inc. (AVE) has provided worldwide
engineering services relating to the design and operation of Liquefied
Natural Gas (LNG) type facilities since its founding in 1964. AVEs
engineering experience covers the whole Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
chain from gas treatment and liquefaction through marine and land transportation
to the final import and delivery of the gas to the pipeline, power plant
or LNG powered vehicle. AVEs can complement its LNG experts with
unlimited technical staff and experienced engineers with a long history
in the power industry. AVE is further supported by a five-person design
and drafting department.
AVE and its subsidiary company, Powerweb Technologies,
Inc., have demonstrated successful working relationships with local,
national, and international companies to provide specific environmental
permitting services, site contamination evaluations, detailed geotechnical
investigation of brown field sites, and design and evaluation of marine
structures.
In support of the above, the Energy Policy
Act of 2005, which became law in August 2005, will encourage more natural
gas production in areas currently available for development while promoting
more efficient use of natural gas as well other forms of energy. But,
these initiatives are long-term solutions and wont increase supply
overnight. However, efforts that can be taken in the short-term include:
1) using energy more efficiently through energy management. 2) Placing
gas in storage so gas companies can purchase gas during warmer months,
when prices are usually lower, and place it in storage for use in the
winter when prices tend to be higher. 4) Hedging: Make use of financial
tools, such as futures contracts, to help stabilize the price of gas
charged to customers
Energy Management:
Governor Edward G. Rendell of the State of Pennsylvania announced on
January 11, 2006, that Powerweb Technologies, Inc. would receive a state
sponsored $400,000 grant. Powerweb will use these dollars in Pennsylvania
to install a demand-management system and web-based trading platform
known as the PALM Procurement Platform. This interactive trading system
is designed to interface energy consumers with the supplier to monitor
commodity-based contracts for load management.
